Rules and Bylaws
- Teams and team Captains
- Teams are composed of four players, one of which must take the position of team captain.
- The Team captain defines who the main four team members are.
- There is no limit on the number of substitute players that can fill-in for an absent player.
- Team Captains are responsible for ensuring all players have paid league dues.
- Some communication may only reach the Team Captains, it is expected that they manage communication to the rest of their team.
- Regular Season
- Head to Head matchups.
- One night a week.
- Two games a Night
- Playoff Rounds continue into additional Wednesday night games, culminating in our Championship which is played on Saturday Afternoons.
- Scores / Subs
- Every Player must play as themselves:
- A Sub named Nick can’t bowl as Chris.
- Chris’ Handicap is tracked based on Chris’ performance.
- Nick’s Handicap is tracked based on Nick’s performance.
- If a Sub returns to play another week, they must use the same name; Nick must Sub as Nick, unless a name change is effectively communicated to league leadership.
- There will be two games played every week.
- The team with the most points including handicap for game 1 will be rewarded 1 point.
- The team with the most points including handicap for game 2 will be rewarded 1 point
- The Team that has the highest Total pin fall including handicap will be rewarded with the third and final point.
- In the event of a Tie, both teams will be awarded .5 points.
- We do not want a new sub to show up on playoff day and roll through the entire bracket.
- Playoffs subs must have 2 weeks (4 games) worth of league play that season to establish their handicap.
- We are a handicap league. 95% of 205 with a maximum of 24 weeks being used to calculate your average.
- Week 1, All players will carry over the handicap from the previous season.
- Player handicaps are tracked weekly, and increase / decrease based on the player’s performance.
- First time subs will have no Handicap, However; they will have their own handicap applied to their scores retroactively, based on their performance.
- If only three team members are available on any given night, the team may bowl one player short with a “Blind Score”
- Blind Score is a flat 165 points, No handicap will be added.
- If a team has two missing players on any given night, requiring two Blind Scores, They are disqualified from obtaining Standing’s points.
- Every Player must play as themselves:
- The “Whatever the computer says” rule, is for cases where a pin(s) swayed or moved, but didn’t fall, but was tabulated as a fallen pin(s) resulting in a positive result for the bowler.
- The philosophy here is that this is an indicator that the pin(s) swayed or moved just enough for the string to tug on the spool, triggering the signal to loosen the string and counting the pin as fallen. However, The tension of the string connected to the spool and pin(s) may be enough to stop the pin(s) from actually falling.
- The “Whatever the computer says” rule IS NOT intended for cases when the pin(s) has visually fallen before the curtain begins to descend, but were NOT tabulated as a fallen pin(s) resulting in a negative result for the bowler.
- “visually fallen” will not have a hard definition and will require collaboration between both teams. If both teams have a witness it should be a simple confirmation between them. If the opposing team has no witness, they may involve league officials if an agreement cannot be reached.
- Standings
- Based on the three points obtainable every week.
- Total pin fall will settle any points won tie.
Playoff Format
The top Eight teams after 10 weeks will make the cut. Total HDCP pinfall for the season will be the tie breaker for teams that have won the same amount of points.
